It's a 1964 LP by Dick Rosmini called "Adventures For 12 String, 6 String & Banjo".
Here's a link to what it looks like and some sound clips

Stupid me never made MP3's of it, and I went down stairs to see my son using it as a frisbee :| Rosmini influenced my guitar playing as much as anybody- and I NEED this album back! There may be a reward if anyone can find it for me (LP or CD is fine).

If this would have happened a few months ago, I might have been able to help you, but the guy at the station I used to work at quit. He was the only who knew anything about the thousands of LPs that the station has. It would take weeks to go through all of them.

Good luck though.

You aren't stupid for not making MP3s of the album. You are stupid for leaving anything valuble in reach of a child.
How old is your son?

I wouldn't call a milk crate on the top shelf of my studio "in reach" :) He's 5.

How did he manage that?

I'd venture a guess at either stilts or shoes with springs on the bottom.

He's 5! They always find a way. When you have kids, you can expect your belongings to be destroyed in ways you couldn't even imagine. MP3 player in the toilet, watch stuffed in a jar of Crisco, silver dollars stuffed in the DVD player...it's amazing that they can even THINK of these things.

My Mom gave me a bunch of old records like that. I wouldn't be surprised if she had some of his stuff in her collection. She had a lot of classical but loved guitar music...in fact, I am named after a Classical Guitarist she was particularly fond of.

Instead of (not) recording to MP3 before it was destroyed, you should have learned about the wonders of FLAC.

FLAC is lossless, same quality as CD audio (44 KHz / 16 bit stereo) but compressed to 50-70% of the size of WAV files. Lossless = not throwing away 9/10 of the sound because "you probably can't hear it."

It's because parents don't discipline their children anymore. I see this more and more everyday. When I was 5, my parents made sure that I was disciplined enough to know not to mess with any one else's possessions. Whenever I went to someone's house, I did not even sit down on the couch until they allowed me to do so. I was told never to touch anything. If I wanted to watch TV, I had to ask them to turn it on for me.

Yeah right. Another "I don't have kids but I know how to handle them" person. I was one of those too.

My sister and I practically raised 4 cousins like this and they are disciplined now. They know not to even touch the videogames until they wash their hands with soap. They know to take out the discs by the edges, put them back into the proper containers, put up the controllers and turn off the TV when they're done.

It's unfortunate but it seems that you don't know how to handle taking care of children and raising them properly.

the kids in my neighborhood have finally learned not play around the cars that are at my house. There have been a few that have crashed into the cars. Talking with the kids in a firm, but not over bearing voice helps. that and explaining to their parents what has happened and being not overly generous about not pressing charges helps too.

...and now they're in the back room plotting the death of your anal-retentive ass

Nope BECAUSE THEY WERE DISCIPLINED. If you don't care what your kids do then that's fine but YOU NEED TO TRAIN THEM TO RESPECT OTHERS AND THEIR PROPERTY (but seeing as how they won't even respect you or your property, I highly doubt that will happen).
