Ok, I just received a phone call from my sister, Who could not figure out how to send a picture over the Internet. She is using hotmail. First she tried to attach a folder (not a file) and failed. But sent the Email anyways not seeing that there was no files attached. Then she gave up and called me. Took no further steps to help herself, read nothing, Just flat out called me and said "I cant send pictures over the Internet". I proposed she use email, "I tried that but it did not work last time." I walked here through to the attach file part, and she said "Oh, it worked this time, I guess it was just because I click it really fast." I explained that she probibly just selected one file in the folder without noticing it, and told her to attack he file seperatly without trying to attach the folder. Not doubt in a could of minuets I'm going to get a phone "that didn't work"

BAH! WHY CANT PEOPLE JUST LEARN!!!!

I guess this does not sound like a big situation, but I'm the only computer literate person in a small town of 300, So everyone knows I'm computer literate and everyone calls me with all their woes, and I hate giving tech support. I don't charge and I don't say no because I would feel bad about it. Gahh, it just drives me nuts though.
 
My sister called me last week about the same thing. Bugs the hell out of me, because i've taught her how to do it at least 5 times and she has done it before on her own.
 
I guess stupid is a strong word (because I'm not exactly a brainiac) but, its just some of the problems they bring to me are so simple and so well documented, but they ignore trying more then once or reading documentation and just call me. Most people can read Right? I dont know, it just irritates me.
 
Best part is that she is your blood, so you have as much of that stupidity in you as she does.
 
I started a company to get out of just this bind. People ask a techie question, I hand them a business card with my rates on the back.
