So this is on sale, and I thought, 'cool, my babies would love to have a camera that was more camera than toy.'
https://www.amazon.com/VTech-Kidizoom-Action-Cam-180/dp/B06WV87CL3/
But looking at the reviews, all of them but one is a Vine Review. That means this person's testimonial is colored by the fact that this was given to them gratis.
Oh sure, they may think they are doing a spectacular job of researching, even testing the camera but at the end of the day, they have no skin in the game. But the kicker is this: for them to get even more free stuff, people have to 'like' their reviews which means they get the family, friends to like their reviews in the chance they could re-gift these freebies to them. It also set them up to graft which really is pandering to the product owners. I give you a good review, I get more of your stuff, right?
The whole idea stinks and it is why most good tech reviews I trust come from someone buying the product and testing it on a normalized platform, environment.
So with even middling reviews from even the Vine people, I have to give this a hard pass as much as I would love to give them a durable camera for Christmas.
