GAH! How do I stop this annoying Windows sound?

The sound is like an annoying "beeep" but it doesn't come through the speakers, it seems to come through the PC speaker or mobo or something. I checked the Sound options and turned the PC speaker off but it still sounds off when any dialog boxes pop up. Im running Win2K

You might have to disable it in the BIOS somewhere. You can just un-plug the speaker as well.
