I was working on a computer, it had been starting up fine, I shut it down and a few minutes later tried to turn it back on.....nothing, I am able to turn it on if I flip the switch on the power supply, like turn it off, wait a few seconds and then when I turn the power supply back on it will automatically start the computer but the on/off switch on the front of the computer does not work :hmmm: Has anyone had this problem before?

Dead switch maybe? Use a jumper or wire and briefly make contact between the 2 pins on the mobo that the switch plugs into.

Did you check the flux capicator to make sure that its operating within specified parameters?

It sounds like the power on circuit on the mobo has somehow become shorted.

It is a new computer for my uncle, I was setting up the bios, and after I installed the OS I found out the front switch was not working, it was working fine before I turned it on and off around 8-10 times

That shouldn't make a difference... all the button does is close the power on circuit for as long as you are pushing it in.
