Gah! A cell phone really isn't that cool, it's just a phone

Wanna be the envy of others? Get the new iJukeImacoolguy phone. Yes we understand that you have no identity or sense of self, but with this cell phone! You too can be the cool guy! The high roller! Because you are da man now dog. You have a cell phone. And you have the coolest cell phone around!

Be jealous of those with the iJuke, not only does it make and receive phone calls...you can outjuke your other opponents with inferior phones!!!!!!

This is worse than the killernic, it's marketing gone insane. Sad part is it works.

Watch me move, watch me move, watch me out dance you with my cell phone. Bizzzoow!

It's like Bose, but worse.

Bull puckies! My thong cost no where near what a cell phone costs and there is no monthly fee to wear it.

For once I have to agree with spiderman. It's going too far! I like my phone to be a phone. The gimmicks a lot of phones have are just gimmicks... how can anyone be sold on a phone because it plays music videos?? Do you really need to watch videos while standing in line at the movie theatre??
I also don't want to sign a contract... phone service shouldn't be a freaking lifestyle choice.

Meh, a phone is a phone.

Although I did pay $35 for a razr v3 on ebay. It's the coolest phone I've owned so far. Not that I care, I just wanted something a little slimmer and better than my crappy nokia.

Indeed. Recently got a Motorola W490 because my old phone(s) had worn out. Battery dying after an amazing 10 minute conversation, 0 key barely functional, etc. Had the old one for 6 years. I cringed getting a new one. Had to sign a contract to get it cheap enough for me to afford. But yeah, phones do not make you cool, no matter how the commercial shows the "coolness" of assaulting random people in a gym with fallout boy. :barf;

eh I got a BB 8100 (pearl) for -$50 AR from Amazon. Its a phone, I can send email with out a computer, plays music decently well and they GAVE me $50 to have it, yeah its pretty friggen sweet.

Peopel who spend money on things you dont value are clearly diluted materialistic fools!

While I understand your post and truly see where you're coming from...to call me out on my hobbies. Just as any one of us could make the same statement about anything else about another's' interest...

It's the marketing onslaught that I don't agree with. That somehow by having the latest gadget makes you cool. You can't buy cool.

Folks can and should spend their money as they want/value. I just don't like the marketing, but like I said...it works.

When I got my first cell phone like a year and a half ago, I was offered the latest super thin model for no cost

I chose the older, extra fat, heavier phone (it's still fairly small) because I wanted something that was more durable and I'd be less likely to lose it.

Honestly, I don't see the point in phones being popular. Once your phone does everything (MP3s, browser, etc.), who cares if it looks cool? You should only pay for features, not hip factor. It's the same reason I've never owned an iAnything

Reality is that some people care about it, and if two things are identical in every way except their looks, I'm going to pick based on what looks better.

All I want is a no frills slim clamshell phone. if it's gotta have an mp3 player, copy the old 2nd gen nano. and figure something out from that. that's all I want.

Yep, why bose remains so successful. Same with other brands. Once you win the battle in the consumers mind, it doesn't matter what product you produce.
