"Bose quiet headphones. The ultimate in sound quality. You deserve the best!"

The biggest beef I have is the outright blatent marketing of complete crap, even more so is peoeple actually buy this crap.

Commercial - "bose, the ultimate", cut to young/middle aged person smiling blissfully as he/she enjoys the 'best'. GRRRRRR. It's almost as bad as sony.

Only thing to take away is "the battle is in the consumer's mind, once that battle is won you can sell them anything for anyprice"

Read the book "The battle for the consumer's mind" to understand. Anybody have stats on R&D vs. Marketing for this hunk of crap?

Idiot! Of course they're not working as advertised. You used a cheap headphone jack. You need to buy the Monster headphone cord. :p :)

It's a book I read back in the early 90s, along the lines of steven covey stuff. I wish I knew the exact title of the read.

The premise was that once you had that place in the consumers mind, that place where the consumer revered you by service and product no matter how crappy your product actually was you have won, and you must strive for that image - quality/value be damned. Once you have secured that name, that brand, it will take a decade or more to unseat it.
