ga7-vaxp upgrade options

I have a ga7-vaxp F14 XP2000, 512 2100DRR, 80 GB WD and 40GB WD, ATI AIW 9000. I am getting into DVD ripping of VHS and hate waiting. Would a 2500 barton and 512 DRR400 be a BIG boost. Would RAID with 2 120GB be better investment of 200$.?
 
Well, if you're sure that your motherboard has dividers for a 200mhz fsb, I would definitely get the Barton. Just make sure that you write the output to your other hard-drive. I have 2 hd's also, and it makes a huge difference in encoding time.
