Hi guys, I have a GA-Z77X-UD5H and the problem I am having is when I enter Standby or Hibernation mode and then wake the PC up all my USB devices are gone. Mouse, Keyboard and Wireless Adapter, if I unplug them and then plug them back in then they will work. Any ideas as to what can be causing this? I have the newest Bios, Windows XP SP3 fully updated fresh install.
Before I encountered this issue when I went into Sleep or Hibernate the PC would immediately come out of it after I moved the Keyboard and Mouse to different USB ports then it started working, but now I am having this issue of missing devices. It's annoying to unplug and plug everything back in every time I use them.

Make sure that the mouse and keyboard are only plugged into the RED USB ports above the Firewire and E-SATA ports. That's the only place you can plug in a Mouse and Keyboard and expect them to work properly. Those are connected to the Intel chipset. The other, BLUE USB 3.0/2.0 ports are connected to a VIA USB controller and they do NOT work properly with mice and keyboards.

From the manual:

Chipset:
- Up to 2 USB 3.0/2.0 ports (available through the internal USB headers)
- Up to 6 USB 2.0/1.1 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available through the internal USB headers)

Chipset + 2 VIA USB Hubs:
- Up to 8 USB 3.0/2.0 ports (4 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available through the internal USB headers)

* In Windows XP, the Intel USB 3.0 ports and VIA USB HUB can support up to USB 2.0 transfer speed
As you can see, you won't get full functionality out of the USB 3.0 ports with Windows XP. Why are you using a 12 year old operating system with brand new hardware?

Also, if you are having problems with legacy USB 2.0 hardware, I'd suggest getting some Expansion slot USB 2.0 ports and plugging them into the motherboard USB 2.0 headers. You can get some here: Link

Hope this helps.
