GA-P55A-UD3 Reset Switch Fail

I recently switched RAM and updated my BIOS to F11 to ensure the RAM was supported. RAM works fine but I noticed the reset switch no longer works. Thus I no longer have access to instant-off capability, which I prefer - it's saved me from a virus attack once or twice.

Just curious whether anyone else has run into this, and if so whether a solution was found. I have the BCLK at 160 MHz and CPU (i5-750) at 3.2GHz, but haven't changed anything else in the bios.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I enabled CPU Temp warning (70 C) and disabled C3/C6/C7 because this feature causes random beeps from the motherboard - a known Intel issue where the temperature is not properly read in the C6 state, and gives a warning if the temp warning is enabled.

Have confirmed it doesn't reset if you just short the jumper on the board? Might also check if the pins look damaged as well while you're at it. You could also swap the power switch lead with the reset switch lead and see what happens.

Did you load defaults after the update? I don't know if this in emphasized as much as it used to be, but I always do it.

Good suggestions, thanks.

Defaults - I did load defaults after the BIOS update, then manually reset my clock (and disabled C6).

Jumpers - I suppose that it could be a coincidence, maybe the switch just went bad recently. There is no reset LED on my MB, only power and HDD activity. i'll attempt the jumper short and see what happens.

Thanks again!
