Hi All,

There seems to be a problem with the 3rd and 4th DDR2 memory slots on my GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard. I was attempting to evaluate my memory sticks by running Memtest 86+ and Windows Diagnostic Utility. When I place my DDR2 memory into the 1st or 2nd memory slots, these diagnostics return no errors after many passes. When I place the same DDR2 memory into the 3rd or 4th memory slot, these diagnostics return hundreds of errors on the first pass. Is there any way to fix this issue without returning the motherboard for repair? In particular, I was wondering if I could somehow adjust the voltage to deal with this.

Here are my system specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775
GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
2 x CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-8500C5D
eVGA NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS 256MB GDDR3
Samsung SpinPoint HD501LJ 500GB
ASUS DRW-1814BLT (Black 18X DVD+R ?)
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit (OEM)

Note that my RAM is Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-8500C5D, and it works fine in the first two DDR2 memory slots.

Thanks for your help,
Lester

A bit confused, you're putting both sticks into slots 3 & 4 leaving 1 & 2 empty? I beleive the manual says you need to put them in either 1&3 or 2&4. That might be the problem.

I was putting both sticks into slots 3&4, so I will rerun the diagnostics using 1&3 or 2&4 and report back. I believe there is something else fundamentally wrong here, though, since when I use all 4 slots and run the diagnostic, I still receive errors.

Ok, one pair of sticks produces no errors in slots 1&3 and no errors in slots 2&4 (after a few passes of memtest). The other pair of sticks produces 267000 errors in the 2&4 position and 2 errors in the 1&3 position after 1 pass of memtest.
