After I had two BSODS with the same error; IRQL Not_less_than_or_equal_too I Googled it and narrowed it down to a sound driver I believe. That makes since because I just started using the Razer Barracuda headphones which recommended I switch my audio to 5.1 speakers for best performance. The program that's giving me problems is CSS via Steam. Which doesn't suprise me in the least. I couldn't get CSS to save my sound settings, I'd hit Apply, Ok, and then it would change right back to 2 Speakers. It wouldn't even set to Headphones.
Now that I used the control panel to change my audio settings back, should I re-install my mobo drivers? I've been reading and the problems that it could be are many and I went through them, it's definetely not my ram. I can't rule out the headphones though because they didn't come with a cd and I believe it manages itself. But I changed my on-board sound (which is capable of 7.1) back and I haven't had any more problems. But what's the point of buying a mobo with premium sound and headphones designed to capitalize on that premo sound if I can't get it to work.
In short, re-install mobo drivers?
