When I turn my pc off for the night in the morning I would not be able to boot. The power turned on, no beep would occur, fans spun up. Then about 10 seconds later, the power turns off. Shortly this process repeats as it turns itself on.

When I used the bios reset jumper this was fixed. I was able to reconfigure everything (and not overclock at this point). I ran Orthos for 12 hours and was happy everything seemed ok. A few days later it happened again. So i reset the bios, then updated to F8 revision bios.

The system boots fine, works and plays games. This morning when I went to turn it on, the reset jumper didnt fix the black screen. I pulled all components except video card and got the"add ram" beep. Adding the ram, will keep it in the power cycle. On, blackscreen no beep, off...repeat.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? I cannot test the processor or motherboard separately without help. How can I better diagnose this problem....Should I be looking for a new Motherboard? I need something that is OC friendly, supports DDR2, and fits a Tunique Tower.

Here are system specs and overclock stats(before it went totally dead i was not overclocking.)

I have had this happen and from my perspective it has been bad overclock settings and the motherboard just didn't like it. It could be your ram that is causing this problem because it is overclocked as well. What you can do is set all back to default settings and run it for a while and if all works correctly, then that was your problem. I have had to clear CMOS, and set everything back to defaults to clear this up. Then after that, I started to overclock carefully. Cpu first, make sure your Ram is @ 1:1 and not in the equation.

Remove your power plug, set the jumper to clear cmos, Press the power button for 20 seconds. Let set for about 45 minutes to an hour. After 45 mins or so, Remove the jumper, replace the power and turn on.....Hopefully this clears it up....

What really sucks is The warranty is certainly voided by the fact that I installed the Tunique (had to cut off a back plate heatsink to make it fit. ^^

I don't know what is wrong with the settings I used, since it was stable @ 3.15 in orthos, and FAR below my best OC of 3.55ghz.

I had it running with these settings for a very long time and had no problems till recently. I only flashed the bios after the problems started, and that caused the amazing quad-craptastic bios to do something wierd and just refuse to post. I wish I could do something other than just hope a total clear will work. I am attempting a clear agian, will let it sit overnight powerless.
