I desperately need to buy a MotherBoard, but the more I read on different forums the more I get confused. I have the following offers in my area, please recommend me something. Which one should I get? Money is not really an issue. I can pay more if it's worth it.

ASUS P5K Deluxe - 235$
ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP - 170$

Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 - 210$
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 - 175$
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - 140$

Abit IP35-E - 105$
Abit IP35 - 150$
Abit IP35 Pro - 190$

I already bought:

Q6600
Cooler Master Hyper TX2
eVGA 8800 GTS 640Mb SC
2x1GB OCZ 6400 Platinum Rev.2 + 2x1Gb OCZ 6400 Reaper (don't know which one to keep)
Samsung 400Gb 16Mb Sata2
600W XFinity PSU

So far I am not planning to use SLI or CrossFire. Firewire is desired. Want to overclock to 3.2Gh or 3.4Gh on air.

Abit IP25-E is $71 AR at MWAVE. I would never touch OCZ RAMs. Stick with high-quality 1.8V JEDEC DDR2 667 oor 800 RAMs from Crucial or Kingston for best compatibility.

thank you for your suggestions. the prices I quoted are from Kiev, Ukraine. I have no possibility to order at MWAVE :(.

The OCZ memory I already bought. Which one to keep? Platinum Rev.2 or OCZ Reaper?

I was thinking about Gigabyte P35-DQ6. Is it worth to pay more for it? Or to go with ASUS P5K Deluxe for 30$ more?

I just bought a Gigabyte DS4 (whitch is verry similar to dq6 in all aspects) for my Q6600 b3 step. Tomorrow I will get my Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme and gonna put all the stuff togheter. I have a x1950 pro 512mb ... 2GB a-data vitesta ddr2 800 4-4-4-12 (2x1gb dual chanell kit), 2x320 gb seagate sata2 16mb buffer hdd for a raid array. i hope to be able to do 3200 (8*400) .... will try to keep u informed on how it goes ... maybe will help u decide on getting a dq6. Hope it will go well.

I would suggest going with the DQ6. Very high quality board and is one of the most stable boards around.

Avoid the Asus P5K Deluxe as it has problems with SATA drives.

What problems does the P5k Deluxe have with SATA drives? I have that board with two SATA drives and a SATA DVD-RW in it. Can't say I'm having any issues with it.

If I went with the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0 motherboard will my ThermalRight SI 120 heatsink fit within the CPU space with the 775 retention bracket offered by Thermalright? Don't want any surprises after I purchase the components.

Here is the Retention Bracket from Cooler Guys.

It's a confirmed problem by Asus. Basically the P5K Deluxe/Premium boards will not work properly with any SATA HDs unless they are Seagates.
