I just RMAed this board, because it suddenly died, as in no power at all. They said they will repair it and send it back. Before I sent it, I took a quick look, and noticed some discoloration on 2 small spots on the back. On the corresponding area on the front, were 2 small boxes labeled Q30 and Q31. Just curious what these areas do.
BTW, my MB manual had no such detailed specs, and a Google search didn't turn up anything.
Thanks!

As a side, just in case they can't repair it, are there any boards which I could buy that would not require a reinstall of Vista 64? This particular model is no longer sold here in Japan, but I beleive some simular Gigabyte boards are. I'm hopeing to just swap out the MBs without having to do a total reinstall.

Nobody makes schematics available in the consumer PC segment unless required by some regulatory/compliance thing. OEMs (the bigger ones) sometimes put them out there, but its rare.

Thank you

How about my second question regarding another simular MB? Say a GA-G31M-ES2L?

The letter Q on a circuit usually refers to a transistor. You would think they would use T, but that is used for transformers.
Without a schematic it can be hell to find out what is the actual transistor part number. Often the parts come from Taiwan and have obscure markings that don't relate to any product you can use a reference to find.
