This is for an HTPC. Previously I bought a Gigabyte 690G board and it worked up to a point.
I have it hooked up to a tube HDTV, Sony 52." The first board was not that hot for 1080i output. It could have been the drivers for all I know.
This one, the color, fonts, and other output is sharper. One note on the downside: this board does not give me S-video nor Component (to TV) Out. Kinda of a shame that the 690, two generations back, provided that supoort but this one does not. Anyway, I am using HDMI to DVI-I to hook it up to the TV (my TV does not have HDMI).
Second, the GPU is way too new for any Linux distribution. So I am stuck with Windows XP 64bit for the rest of this year, perhaps more.
For now, it does play Blu-ray but that may be because i also installed AnyDVD HD. I'll find out if it was really need when the temp key expires.
