I have/had a GA-M57SLI-S4 with a AMD Phenom II X3, now I am looking for a decent budget to midrange replacement motherboard for it.
Seeing as the CPU is am3 that is what I am looking for and I am sure I will need DDR3 Ram as well.
But I am just not sure on the motherboards for this CPU...
I am hoping to get this machine running for my son as it was his pc for school work.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip,
I was also considering of just replacing the MB and CPU at the same time, we do a little gaming here and there, but nothing heavy,

I have a geforce 275 GTX card, so was wondering if simply a new MB would do or replace the MB and ram and use same CPU or just buy new MB/CPU/RAM.

That will depend entirely on your budget. If you just want the cheapest solution a MB+RAM will do. If you want to replace your CPU+MB+RAM, you could build a A10-5800K based rig instead. It will be a little slower then your GTX, but they are excellent for cheap gaming. But again, its a budget question... :)
