As it says, I have checked my temps in bios, they were about 51C idle. I checked in the included EasyTune6 they were 51C. I Checked in speedfan and HWMonitor 64 and they were the same. By System temp I mean one of the Temps listed in EasyTune6 is labeled "System". The bios show the system high but the MCH is at about 38C idle. The MCH I am assuming is the NB and is much higher at 49C in Vista 64 according to all the programs I used to check it with. Any idea where these temp sensors are located. My board has the 3 heatsinks connected by a heatpipe and one heatsink off on its own. The heat pipe set up is hot to the touch where as the solo heatsink is not even luke warm. Not sure if I need to return this board or fix it my self. Can you use different thermal compound on the on-board heatsinks. What's in there (the solo heatsink) seems to be pliable and squeeze out when I press on the top of the heatsink and then go back when I release. This makes me think it is a thermal tape or something. I never messed with anything like that.
On a different note: SpeedFan is setup to control my CPU Fan the CM V8, but it will not control any of the other fans located in the cosmos case. I am sure this is due to the fact that SpeedFan is not updated to work with my mobo just yet.
I just want to get all my temps in order before attempting any overclock. I spoke with Rapture who has the same board and his temps were much lower.
Any info you may have including links to Gigabyte sites will help. The site where you get new bios and other updates does not seem to have a forum.
