When trying to use my mic and audio inputs, i am not able to get them to work. when going through the xp sound options, i found that the recording volumes were all locked. is there anyway to unlock the volumes?

PS ive already tried reinstalling the sound drivers and updating as well as checking to make sure the volumes werent muted, which they werent.

I've noticed that too. Immovable volume sliders on the input channels. It appears to be either a limitation of the drivers, or most likely, a limitation on the actual hardware. It really kind of sucks, if you plan on recording audio from both a CD and a microphone. (Karaoke, etc.)

I still can't figure out what your trying to do exactly. In your other threads you mentioned some program :X

I mean if you just want the mix working. Make sure it's unmuted, turned up, plugged into the right jack, and the programs is to to record from mic.

I checking in the sound options and nothing is muted. From wat ive been reading, theres something about getting digial audio turned off to allow inputs to work. The program that i have is jsut wat came with the drivers.

The immovable volume sliders for the inputs is a seperate problem from your mic not working. My mic still works, even though the mic input volume slider is fixed at around 90%.
