GA-EP35-DS3L and E8400

I have the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard and just ordered a E8400 CPU as an upgrade. I noticed on there website they have BETA bios out that says it supports 45nm wolfdale processors. Do I really have to install a beta bios to use this processor? Im currently using the F7 bios (latest non beta)...

Thanks for any info.

Don't do it! I have the same combo and have been plagued by the dpc latency problem ever since I started using the new beta bios updates. My F7 was workable, now my latency is much worse.

You should not need any BIOS update to run the E8400, the Gigabyte "E" series should be Rev 2.1, so they should come with 45nm support out of the box. The beta BIOS is currently testing a fix for the DPC latency problems being discussed in a thread elsewhere in this forum, I believe.

actually I dont have the E, that was a mistake. Copied and paste. Should I still be ok? Or will I have to update? I have REV 2
