Ga-965p-S3 keeps going on reboot loop...

I have had an 8hrs Orthos stable OC on my e6400 for the past week but one thing thta has been frustrating for me is the reboot loop my motherboard always goes through in the morning. After the reboot loop (around 4 times of rebooting), it would finally boot up without rebooting but my monitor would go into its power saving mode with nothing on the screen - the monitor power light goes from solid green to that barf like yellow signifying its going into that mode.

However, after a couple of times of hard booting and cold booting, I manage to get the system up and running at its overclocked state.

What I am wondering is, how could I avoid this reboot loop and just have my computer boot up once like a normal system.

My system was doing this exact same thing. Completely stable but sketchy on the reboot.

I have a P5B Deluxe and E6400 at 3.2.

Anyway I read at XtremeSystems.org forum that there is some problem of some kind with the PCIe but at 100, either set over or under a bit.

So I set my PCIe buss to 96 and upped my Vcore from 1.35 to 1.40. The problem went away completely.

Every few days I take the Vcore down a notch.

Right now I'm at 1.375 and it's still sold on booting up every time.

If I get it down to 1.35 and it's still okay then that means it WAS the PCIe buss.

Try and set the PCIe but to 96 and see if that helps. If it does then you're set (and so am I).

If it doesn't then move up your Vcore and I bet the problem goes away.

Good luck with it!

And if more vcore makes it worse, then it's your psu.

I doubt its the power supply. I just got the Antec NeoHH so I think I'm alright on that front.

I'll definitely try adjusting the PCI-E. I remembered reading up on that but failed to actually try that out. It is set exactly at 100 and when I get home from work, I'll definitely try that out.

Will keep you updated whether that was the problem or not!

I'm curiuos if you'd tried anything else.

I've moved my Vcore from 1.40 to 1.3875 to 1.375 to 1.3625 holding at each voltage for a couple days to insure stability. So far so good.

I'm really starting to think moving the PCIe to 96 is what stopped the reboot issue for me.

It just seems unlikely that when I move the Vcore from 1.3625 to 1.350 the issue will come back. But I guess I shouldn't speak too soon...

I'll report back when I move the Vcore to 1.350.

Okay I couldn't wait and moved it down to 1.350. Booted up no problem and I've been running Prime 95
for about 20 minutes so far with no problem.

Looks like it is the PCIe buss that was giving me the cold start problem. Perhaps it's some sort of conflict with the AIW X1900.

I'm fine the keeping the PCIe at 96.
