Hi all
I going to build a new pc based

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300
Gigabyte GA 965 DS3
2*1G Giel Ultra 800MHz, CAS 4-4-4-12
2* 200GB Maxtir SATA 2 (Raid 0)
LG DVD Burner 18X IDE
XFX GeForce 7600GT

GA 965 DS3 is a good budget Motherboard for overclocing
but i heard that there is Problem with Jmicron chip when using Raid and IDE

Any one had experience with this issue?

Re: DS3 board,
Raid: easy
IDE optical: difficult to get full speed read and write capability
Spend some $$ and get a SATA optical drive.
Do NOT use the drivers found on the CD included with the motherboard.
Instead, download the latest driver versions for JMicron controller and Intel Chipset:

The J Micron is ok at best. The interface is clunky and it seems a little slower than when using a VIA or Intel raid chipset setup. I don't like it and would suggest either adding a controller card or buying a board with an Intel raid chipset. Make sure you use the latest bios, but imo its pretty poor.

Many thanks Guys
the problem is that I can't find ANY good board for overclocking with ICH8R or ICH7R in Egypt (MSI 965 Platinum & 975X PUE are not that good in overclocking ) and it's hard to get SATA DVD for now Because it's not available too
So this board DS3 is the only chance for me
I read in some forums about the problem when use Raid / IDE
some problem was solved by driver upgrade and the some wasn't
that really confused me
