I bought these two brands, and I have to say they don't mix well at all. Not being able to post or boot is the biggest problem, at first I thought it was a motherboard problem, but later I found out that it is a compactibility issue.

Now the thing that really gets me down is that Gigabyte has advertised the board supports DDR400+, on the box, In the manuals and on their website. But when I go to plug in my LowLat PC3200 Corsair memory into the slot it will not boot unless I manually change the timings (to do that you need to boot into BIOS with a slower piece of RAM).

But look, here is a link to the SIS chipset Spec and it clearly states that the memory supported by this chipset is PC2700 not PC3200. Why would Gigabyte advertise DDR400? I tried sending them a few email in the hope they would reply, but their support is zero, nil, none, nada. They don't even have it in their troubleshooter, just unbelievable. After reading so many good reviews, not sure why they didn't spot this either :(

Since I can't get hold of Gigabyte support, does anyone know if there will be a patch to fix this problem? because I don't want to send any back as I did quite a bit of research on all of them and I've put it off for long enough.

The ABXZone forums link below should help you, i had the same problem with the SINXP1394 (same chipset) and found quite a few tips and fixes. They also have some very good modded bios for you also the address the memory problem. Good luck
