GA-8PE667 Ultra Question

I just purchased the Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra with Raid. Currently I only have 2 hard drives and a cd r/w drive. Since there are 4 IDE controllers on this board, I was under the impression that I could connect each of my drives to its own controller. I connected hard drive one to IDE 1. I connected the CD rom to IDE 2 and connected my second hard drive to IDE 3. Windows XP doesn't see the second hard drive. What am I doing wrong?

Hey I've got the same brd coming next week. I dont know much about raid yet, but have you ck'd the jumper settings on HD 2 that it is a primary master too? Perhaps that's why it isnt seeing it.

There might also be a single setting jumper for that too.

go into your bios (somewhere) and disable raid and have it act as a standard IDE channel. that's what i had to do with my old abit kg7-r board to get the raid controllers to just be regular IDE.
