***STAY AWAY FROM GEIL***

This board has nothing but problems with it. I purchased two sticks of GEIL Ultra Platinum PC3500 and the board, when set to SPD detection WILL NOT boot. I had to manually set the settings using a borrowed stick of lower speed DDR, just so I could get to the BIOS. Not only that, I upgraded to the F6 BIOS and my board would not boot without doing an autorecovery of my reconfigured F5 BIOS that I had backed up. In addition, only one of the two 256MB sticks that I bought would work in the board. The second stick just beeps as if the board can't see it. I can't say whether the stick is bad or if this board is so picky about the RAM that it just can't see it.

I recommend Kingston HyperX pc3500. This memory has been tested by Gigabyte RMA, I should know, I had the displeasure of them handling my board when they thought it was bad because it wouldn't boot with the GEIL Memory. That's what I would go with.

I use KINGSTON HyperX Series 184-pin 1GB Kit (2x 512MB) DDR433 (PC3500) DDR RAM modules, Model# KHX3500K2/1G
Specifications:
Type: Kingston HyperX
Capacity: 1GB (2x 512MB)
Speed: DDR433 (PC3500)
Latency: CL2 Model#: KHX3500K2/1G

Rock stable, running my 3 gig at 3.250 right now at 210 FSB, great memory for this board and recomended by gigabyte.

I'm getting 2,3,2,5 timings with Kingston HyperX PC3500 at 2.6V.

Increasing RAM voltage has no effect.

I can get to 214 MHz with these timings at memory frequency=2.0

CPU at 1.5V (not stock 1.55)

Billyjak,

can you help out a noob? I built a similar system as yours with a lot of help from a
friend who's an IT specialist.
I have the same case as you only silver, and now the same mobo as well since
I ran into problems w/ the asus p4c800.
I don't have the same psu though. I have the antec true 480. This has 2 "fan only" leads
which supposedly control the speed of the fans that are connected to them.
I didn't use those fan leads coming down from the hardcano. By using them would I be able
to see system fan speeds in the bios? I see there's a connection for system fan on the mobo
but I don't know what to connect to it.
