I need to know the following.
1) SATA is integrated into the Southbridge 'ICH5R' chip and thus not bolted on to the PCI bus correct?
The board also has 2 x PATA ports are these also apart of the Southbridge chip thus also not a PCI device?
2) This ICH5R southbridge chip is the Raid version. So the SATA has the function of Raid 0/&1 ??. Does the BIOS provide a setting to disable Raid mode and enable normal Single drive SATA??????????? So i want 2 big SATA drives used as individual drives not raided.
3) This board has a Texas Instruments Firewire chipset.....it appears the Rear panel does NOT have the Firewire connector, instead i assume this is one of them expansion slot things? Tell me, what kind of connector is it?
6 pin or 4 pin?
