I'm using a new Gigabyte 7VRXP (1.1) board, but I'm getting no sound whatsoever through the onboard audio output.

The drivers are installed and in the device manager it seems that the audio stuff is all OK. Having said that, there are two unrecognised devices there : "GBTWMI Driver for Gigabyte GBT Support" and "VID_04E6 PID_80000004" - might these have anything to do with it?

What OS are you using? My suggestion would be to uninstall the sound drivers, remove all audio devices from the device manager and reboot. Snag the latest sound drivers from Gigabyte here, and install them. If you still have no luck, shoot Gigabyte an email... :)

Thanks dude. I went through all that only to find the same problem. I sorted it though - Turns out it was working al along, it just have very different output level to my previous sound card. I used to run it through passive speakers, not I have to turn on the amp.
