I recently went from a MSI K7T Pro2 mobo to this GA-7DX. My cpu temps, using the exact same cooling, have gone from 44C at full load to 51-52C at full load with this 7DX.
Is this a common thing with these Gigabyte boards? I know its not the HSF, Ive got a Dragon Orb 3, cleaned it and the cpu off completely before reinstalling. The HSF never moved when I placed it on the cpu.

Theif, I believe this higher reading is due to the fact that the DX has a temp gauge right underneath the processor chip itself. You are getting more of an actual reading because of this. The DXR board I have has this & my temps seem a bit high but I would rather have it tell me higher temps then sugar coat what is happening. Mine runs at about 56-58 celcius with stock cooling right now. I have one extra case fan & will be upgrading all fans/coolers in the near future.

Come here and you will get all the info u need & more. I read/post here everyday and basically learned how to build/troubleshoot my own computer in just 2 months. The info about AMD and Gigabyte products is truely great. They have about 10-15 topics just like the one you started here. You will have all your questions answered there! :)
