Hi I recently purchased the gigabyte ga-790xta-ud4 and am looking for what memory to buy for this board. I went to the gigabyte website where I found a list of the compatible memory for this mb but i am sort of confused what some of the information means.

Does anyone know have any suggestions on what memory I should purchase for this board based on the list provided by gigabyte? Thank you.

but stay away from the triple channel kits--that's for i7 Intel chips and iirc, will not work on AMD boards (at least, there is no triple channel function for AMD CPUs)

the list that gigabyte provides is only the list of those modules that they have tested and as they state "there are numerous modules from various manufacturers, so the list represents only what has been tested," etc.

this is the kit I bought (I have the same mobo + 965 BE)

I like OCZ, never had a problem, and figured this was appropriate. I'm actually installing everything right now...running into trouble with fan headers. will post a separate thread...

GSkill parts (at least in my experience) should work just fine. I do steer clear of OCZ because of my bad experience with their "low voltage" DDR2-1066 parts.
