Everytime I run a cpu intensive app, my machine just reboots or blue screens in win2k. With an error unexpected_kernel_mode.
I tried the cpu in a different board and it works fine. I even re-installed windows with just the bare hardware installed and it still does the same thing. I contacted Giga-Byte for support. And I must say they were less than helpfull. Their RMA department will not accept my motherboard. They told me that I must return this board to the retailer and get it replaced there. I bought the board through my distributor, and their policy is not to accept boards past 30 days. I tried to explain this to Giga-Byte's RMA dept. But they insisted on passing the buck.
I have had problems with abit boards, and I have taken them directly and got them RMA'd relatively easily and recieved a good level of support from them. I think it's time to cross Giga-Byte off of my buy list due to their lack of support.:disgust:
