Click.

It's not stock.

Here is what is posted on that link.

Stock: 2.03 60ft, 13.39 @ 104.7

After just tuning: 2.00 60ft, 13.10 @ 107.5

100hp nitrous: 1.96 60ft, 12.49 @ 114 mph

Yes, and the 13.1 is not stock as per the OP. Doesn't make it any less impressive though, 13.39 on a bone-stock $30k car is *very* nice. I hate the looks of it, but have to respect the performance it offers 😉

what kind of tuning are they talking about?

The G8 L76 (362HP) is roughly speaking, an LS2 (400HP, 400lbs-ft) with DOD, detuned to run on regular gas. Just tuning it for premium reportedly gives a decent HP boost.

That's way low even on the stock car, the reviews all had it in the high 13's or flat 14.0, that's a far cry from 13.3.

While I'm a fan, keep in mind a few things.

#1. This is at Atco, one of the "quickest" tracks in the country. Also, you can hear how well the track is prepped for just that car. A regular Test and Tune night wouldn't be anything like that. Traction would suffer as a result, and possibly higher ETs.

#2. It was also in negative DA, the post says -870 DA. Running in "normal" conditions or even at sealevel would produce a higher ET/lower mph.

Still very very impressive for a 4 door sedan.

These are numbers on the line of my old E39 M5, so yeah that's pretty sweet for a $30k new car.

Can't wait for the inevitable front-clip conversions, that stock front end is just god-awful. The Aussie version is so much classier.

Edmunds managed a 13.7. Keep in mind, Edmunds isn't exactly known for their fast times either. Considering this guy ran a 13.1 on a tune in near perfect conditions isn't too far fetched IMO.

The L76 has different heads, intake, and cam. Yeah it's 6.0L displacement and they're both GenIV LS-motors, so the block design should be very very similar, but to say it is a detuned LS2 with DoD isn't quite accurate.

Nice.

Listen to the video as the guy stages and when he launches. Hear the crackling sound? That's all the traction compound on the launching pad surface. No wonder it didn't spin.

It's not a bad car, but I prefer my '05 GTO... 🙂

It certainly looks better 😉

Really...wow...we have different taste in cars. While neither are beauty queens in my mind...the G8 is worlds nicer looking than the GTO...a 2 door version of the G8 would blow the GTO out of the water looks wise.

Edmunds is a lot better with Autos than manuals but then you cant really screw up an suto launch. Brake torque, then go. 13.7 is about right.
