G71 and R580: Where are the Previews?

I am interested to see if ATI does actually hard launch just as well as tje rumours suggest. I want to believe that ATI can pull it off, but after the past year of not stellar launches, I'm still skeptical. My eye is really on the X1700 (aka. RV560), for that looks like the real performance sweet spot.

im sure ATI will have new cards out at launch and nvidia within a week,ATI seen the response from consumers last summer and prolly know they need to be "there" ,..but who knows if nvidia has a few suprises up thier sleeves

NV has been really quite. A little too quite. Unlike the R580, we know squat about the G71.
I smell surprises.. This month is going to be pretty exciting!!

Inquirer is now claiming that Nvidia won't release the G71 until at least a month after the R580:

It is either late February or March time for G71 while ATI stands solid with its late January to early February plans. This means that R580 comes first, but it also gives Nvidia more time to prepare and possibly tweak the clock speed to win over R580.
