G70 or R520 first?

G70 - June 21st
R520 - July 26th

so if these are true dates, G70 is first. Nvidia keeps saying availability wont be a problem this time......but R520 is having problems with yields.

I hope you're right about the r520, but I doubt it.

Screw it.

We'll probably get them a month or two after these release dates.

I'm going for the 850 P.E. itll be more than enough

Rumors says that the G70 is ample in stock, so you would actually be able to get them very close to the NAD date.

i'll be interested in that too. i'll either get a g70 or if the 6800gt fall enough i'll just add another for now.

half the systems out today have agp mobo' like me, and they will make a lot more money and people will be willing to buy them wiout upgrading the mobo.

Maybe he's quoting a paper launch? Apparently the G70 will be available to order on the 21st... I really hope the R520 will be available for purchase on July 26th...

I sure hope this means they'll be available in mass quantities on June 21. Enough to cut the prices of the 6000 line in half.

Does nVidia have anything planned for the mid-range card market? I mean, is there a new card that's slated to take the spot of the 6600 GT ?

overclockers.co.uk have a part of their site ready and waiting for the 7800 series so theyre definately under the impression that a) they'll have plent to sell and b) that they'll have them pretty much on release

I belive I read somewhere that those (mid-high range cards) will be released a few months later (probably within 4-6 months)

Yeah you are right because last time availability was a huge issue. With respect to prices falling in half, that probably will not happen across the board. For instance X800XL is about $250-270 online. 6800GT AGP is $300. You would expect them to drop near $200 or so but not half of $250 and $300. X850xt pe should be about $325 I imagine but not $250 (half of $500). It'll take a while before these cards are anywhere near $125 figure of 9800Pro. Still for most users with AGP systems, either these older generation cards at low prices, or latest generation cards with faster performance at slightly higher prices present a win-win situation (and the last agp upgrade).

the EVGA 6800std has already been seen recently in HD for $189 . . . won't be long now for the solid price drops. 😉

and the 9800p has regularly been ~$115 (with one sale at $105)
