G70 in two weeks?

I'm looking forward to benchmarks, especially since they made that claim that all games will see improved performance as a result of their multi-GPU system (a claim that nVIDIA can't match).

If this is the case... it'd be solid.

i believe thats an old rumor...just like ATI did not need a new mobo/connector between the cards/ect....correct me if im wrong..

Release and availability are entirely different...I'd love to see a G70 on store shelves in 2 weeks, but it won't happen for 2+ months I'm sure.

I think 2 weeks is when manufacters will get the chips in. Not when they will start to actually be able to produce cards in great numbers.

Can't wait to see those SM3.0 Benches. Mostly because...well...it's going to be a big thing this upcoming fall.

I tried playing SM 2.0++ with Riddick and it made my system crawl at 16x12. Plus my over clock caused the game to artifact badly. Disappointed in the 6800GTs performance in that game.

I just found it funny that the writer of that piece said that nothing in Taiwan is secret and yet on the chip in the picture it says "KOREA."

😀

While Riddick is a demanding game that requires a beefy system, my 6800 gt ran it well. I played it at 16x12 with no AA and I didn't notice any slowdowns. Could it be your card was throttling?

Nvidia is already shipping G70 chips to OEMs.

That's because you didn't use AA or SM2.0++. Soft shadows alone will bring the card to a crawl.

Hmm, that first picture of the G70 card looks suspiciously like the one I saw in the HardwareZone preview earlier

It'll be longer for the mainstream version (7600?). hmmm... maybe i'll get a 6600gt in the meantime... need... more... money...

It ran great on my 6800GT with 4AAx8AF in 2.0 mode. I'm not sure any card can run 2++ mode well.
