G6 Lite any good for the Nintendo DS Lite?

Jules

Lifer
Just picked up a DS Lite with star fox and the new mario. is the G6 Lite any good? or should i get something else?

G6 is a device that allows you to put DS Roms on it and load them from your DS. Anyway I heard it works great. But I personally have used and would recommend either than Supercard Lite with Superkey combo(which is what I used) or the M3 Lite with Passme 3 combo. Either depends on your budget but they work great. Then get either 512mb micro SD for either or a 1gb. You can fit anywhere from 6-12 games depending on size on the the 512mb and 15-22 on a 1gb. Those a guesstimates.

So which one is the best?

I have a G6 lite (w/ Passcard 3) and love it. The software can be a little flaky but its better then what I used for my GBA 😉 The M3 and G6 is made by the same company. It really comes down to if you only want to play games, or if you want to use your DS for music/movies. If its for games only get the G6, if you want to watch movies get the M3 so you can have different micro cards for music/movies.

Some people have problems w/ corrupted G6 carts because you have to stop the device (ie "Safely remove Hardware") in windows, but I suspect they miss that step.

hmmmm so what is the hands down best combo to use to get the most out of a ds? also are there any more resources for more info on this stuff?

The best in terms of game compatibly, design, menu design, build quality is the M3 Lite with Passme 3 combo. But you pay the extra for it. If you can afford it don't bother with a G6 your limited to 512mb. I went with a Supercard Lite mainly because of price and secondly because it had a front loading microSD slot vs M3's side loading. You don't have to take the cart out everytime you want to switch games. The M3 is suppose to be compatible with all DS games and I think about all GBA games. The Supercard Lite is suppose to be compatible with all DS games but like one pokemon game and compatible with most all but maybe a handful of GBA games.

But like I said if you all want the best get the M3 Lite/Passme 3 combo. Again you need MicroSD and a SD reader aswell. Thats just my opinion though some might like G6 better. But I think most used is the Supercard Lite combo but mainly because its low price and it still gets the job done with M3 coming in second.

Keep in mind these Lite versions of these cards are for DS Lite only they will not fit in the fat DS. You can get the cards for the fat version though. If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.
