I've just seen a picture from a G550 and I noticed that the VGA-Output is located on a daughter card. On a daughter card?! How can this result in superior 2D quality? Shouldn't the extra connector make the quality even worse? I mean the VGA-Output is not connected directly ("hardwired") to the vidcard-pcb itself, so the conductors are longer. So how can this lead to "excellent" 2D quality?

Just because the conductors might be longer doesn't mean it won't have good quality. Matrox is notorious for having great 2D cards.

Think about it, i mean, your monitor cable is several feet long, don't you think that degrades quality as well?

I wouldn't lose sleep over it

Just wondering, nothing else. But there are monitor cables with different quality. Or do you think the cable bundled with EIZO CRTs is of same quality like the one from ADI?

I still doubt that the output quality of a G550 is better than from its predeccesor G400, which has a "hardwired" VGA-output. (dunno about the G450)
