I have a ver1 iMac G5 and mine boots about as fast as the Intel one they showed... =/

That's messed up. They must've sabotaged it as my old G4s used to boot about as fast as that Intel. Bah. It's just a bunch of PeeCee Weenies trying to show their fanaticism about x86 over superior PowerPC.

it's quite sad how Apple ISN"T faster than comparable PC's. Given that they have a very rigid and defined architecture that they have complete control over, one would think they could optimize the hell out of it.

The G3 and G4 were Motorola's, and the G5 done via IBM, correct?

It is optimized at the user interface level..where it counts.
