G5 Sluggish Mousewheel?

When gaming or in normal use, I notice that my G5 mouse wheel does not respond upon the first spin of it upwards or down. In games like CS:S it'll usually lag before switching to a gun I did not want to switch to.. Sometimes the DPI adjustment takes a little bit to switch over to the next setting. Has anyone else experienced this?
