I give it an 8 out of 10

the case design is mad cool
CPU hsf is crazy big!
system cooling is excellent
performance is ok..
software is above average

I normally dislike Macs..however, I'd have to say, it looks way spiffy. Plus, it pretty much has seamless integration with Windows Networks...which makes my job a lot easier. Btw, it's pretty 'nix so we pretty much feel right @ home with this computer. Overall, I would say PC admins shouldn't fear it, they should embrace it as it really does make everything simpler.

My PC still beats it hands down though 😛

that cooling system does rock. more fans then even my pc. no pc equiv🙁 it throttles all the fans based on whats going on, and even spins up fans if high usage is predicted. beats the lousy knobs i control mine with.

ya, I wonder where they got those case fans..they look totally silent, but can push lots of air.../me jealous 🙁
 
Tell that to my brother the graphic artist and web designer, he decided (after a decade of Mac use) that OSX is annoying and different enough from OS9 that he might as well upgrade to a P4 3.2 GHz system instead of a dual G5.

He did, and he's happy so far with Windows XP Pro and the 2 GB RAM, 120 GB + 2 x 160 GB RAID-1, Radeon 9800XT, Cooler Master Wave case system that he built for about $2,400.

The newest generation of Mac hardware finally has the OSX GUI running rather snappily, and the LCD quality is very nice. I would love to get either a dual G5 Power Mac or a 20" iMac, but I can't afford it yet. Maybe if I sold my older iMac..

Wait...you're least enthousiastic about what are (in my opinion) the two most important things in that list and you give it an overall 8/10?? Performance is just "ok"? Software is just "above average"? Yikes.
