G5 Mouse keeps waking Monitor

I have a Logitech G5 mouse in Vista(same thing was seen in XP). My problem is that the slightest rumble will cause the computer to unidle. This is due to the high sensitivity of the G5 mouse.

I like its sensitivity, but was wondering if there were and programs/settings that would allow the following:

a) turn down sensitivity during idle times
b) turn up amount of mouse movement vista will recognize as "activity" and wake up my monitor( i do not use sleep/standby)

Thanks in advance...

I have a Logitech VX Nano laser mouse on my laptop, and what you are pointing to relates to the monitor turning off - it does that as a screen saver option.

I don't know of anyway to lower the mouse sensitivity thast would not be universal, i.e., all the time.

Here is what I do. If I do not want the mouse to wake up the monitor, I turn it off - a little switch on the bottom. You can also just turn the mouse upside down.

yea, that was my only idea, to turn the mouse upside down...

it would be very nice for logitech to include this in a setpoint update in the future

anyone else know of anything?

Unplug it? Turn the monitor off? Aside from flipping your mouse upside-down, that's about it... or walk on your tiptoes.

Find a better mousepad? Get a sturdier desk? I don't really know, I couldn't reproduce your problem on my setup (2000dpi, mouse speed set to max in Windows). I was pounding on the desk on my mousepad next to the mouse and it wouldn't leave screensaver. You might be able to set your mouse to not trigger wake-from-idle, but I don't remember how to do that.

there is a easy setting to "not wake from standby" but nothing for preventing mouse from unidle

it also triggers an AIM unidle when it does this...so friends of mine message me thinking i'm available when im not...

i guess ill just flip it over
