G400 & Quake 3 Trouble

I have a Matrox G400 Dual Head, 32 meg vid card. Athlon 700, running on an Asus K7V motherboard. I believe the drivers i'm running for the G400 are v5.52.015.
I installed Quake 3 today. I loaded it up and it started playing the little demo. So i watched a bit of it and then got sick of it and hit enter to go to the main menu and my machine locked up. So i rebooted and tried it again, and this time i didn't watch the demo and tried to go right ot the main menu and my machine locked up again.

Anyone know how i can fix this?

i use 6.04 driver for win ME and have no problem here, and 5.15 for my win2k with 4.24 4 in 1 driver, have u try the new driver for G400? and os are u running at?

I'm running WIN98 Se. Should i go ahead and upgrade to the beta drivers?

Han888: I just upgraded to v6.04 drivers and i have everything working perfectly now. Thanks for the help.

np, go here and take the mtstu300.zip if u have a problem to get 4 x agp, i use that utilities and have 4 x agp, before use that utilities i only get 2 x agp

Han888: Thanks once again. I'm going to give that a try. I believe i have mine running at 4x already, but i'll just make sure. Any other tweaks you can suggest? ;-)

and also dont forget to install the turbo gl for G400, it's increase the performance, get it here

Han888: The link to the turbo gl is either offline or bad...

So when i get it, how do i install it?

In quake 3, do i have to turn it on, or will it automatically be used?

just install it into your system, and it will be automatically run when u run the game, yeah the web site i give u is currently down!

Han888: I was able to logon to that web site. I picked up the gl driver. I'm going to install it on my system tonight. I have to send my pc133 ram back to where i purchased it tomorrow. It doesn't work with my athlon. I'm going to get a new stick in replacement.
