Which G400 should I get? I want it to run at 22" monitor at 2048x1538 with clear text. my geforce takes a crap at anything higher than 1600x1200..this voodoo3 i'm using at the moment does a bit better..but a g400 should be the best. now my question is..would there be any real difference, in my case, between a 16mb, 32mb, or max? I don't care about 3d performance. i'm just trying to save some money.. so i wasn't sure if i should go for the best one if the ramdac on the 16mb is the same and if that much ram is sufficient for my resolution..

I'd get the G400MAX or better yet the G450....you'd be able to get a higher refresh rate at that resolution than ya could with G400 16/32mb.....

Here, I found this on Matrox's site so you can compare....You'd think at that resolution you'd want the highest possible refresh rate....right?

Hrm..my monitor wont do more than 70hz at 2048x1538 anyway so the others will be alright..but is there a big difference between the 360mhz ramdac that the max has compared to the others at 300mhz?

Better get G450, it has 350/360Mhz RAMDAC, too, and it's cheaper than G400MAX...

Yup, but I heard you could oc the G400 to max levels... anyway, only reason someone would NOT get the G450 over the G400 would be because it doesn't work with the matrox rainbow runner tv tuner (not sure of the exact name)... of course I guess you don't have one since you didn't mention it, so the G450 should be fine.
