G35 Sport Sedan

Yay or nay?

How much is it usually bought for including the premium package (website says 35K, wondering if the sales people haggle).

Would it be able to keep up with a 335i? Most comparisons I read say they are about the same in the end 😕. There's never a clear cut winner.

I heavily considered an 07 G35 before I decided for the 335i.

When I went to the Infiniti dealer, they were not letting anything go below MSRP, which I thought was snobby. I guess this also depends on the area.

The car itself is pretty nice, lots of improvements inside in terms of gadgets. The exterior I thought looks better than the 335i.

It is a quick car, but it will not keep up with a 335i. A 335i runs 4.8 for 0-60 and a G35 is around 5.5, tested by car magazines, don't believe the manufacturer's specs on their websites, they either underrate ( in BMW's case) or overrate their own times (in Infiniti's case).

The good thing is, it will be about 10k cheaper than a 335i. So if you can give up a little bit of performance, it does present a very good value proposition.

It's really not a fair comparison unless you don't care about the price premium on the 335i. I'm a bit biased because I just ordered a loaded G35 Sports Sedan myself. 🙂

I would assume that the 335i would have a higher maintenance schedule due to the FI? True?

Maintenance is free for the first 4 years of the vehicle. But after that, who knows, BMW is not the most reliable brand around.

Well, unless your daily drive is a racetrack, I don't know how much it'll matter in the end. 😛

Both are plenty powerful and handle great, it's really splitting hairs in terms of performance unless you have a serious need to rocket full throttle off every stoplight and take 20mph turns at 75mph.

I'd wager quite a bit of money that the G35 will cost you less to buy and own overall though.

It'd probably be just as nice to drive every day as well, but BMW gives +5 to e-peen though 😛. It's like these kids were at the park and they were all oo'ing over a BMW Roadster. Personally, I'm glad they weren't oo'ing over my car (although they are about the same price), because I don't want some greasy "sk8r boi" putting his dirty hands on my car :|! But the idea is in that scenario, two cars... about the same worth, people don't look twice at the one car, but they love the fancy looking BMW.

I don't really like the new Bimmers, I prefer the previous gen. There's just something about the headlights that is just off to me.

The new G's are teh sex, I'm glad they spiffed up the interior as well.

Yeah, the BMW is unquestionably more pimpin than the g35. Not that the g35 isnt pimpin or anything, but BMWs have this aura of luxury that the japanese luxuries just don't have. But if thats what you want, you'll have to pay for it.

Let me know when the BMW falls apart...

...oh wait, it just did.

German "reliability" no longer exists. 25 years ago, sure. Now? Not so much.

the 335 is faster. like Imdmn04 said, the reviews I read show the 335 running sub 5. But considering the 10k+ price difference, I would take the G

and for the difference in price you can get a custom kenne bell in the G35 🙂

eh, I like the new one much better. The old one was OK, but the new one, other than the chopped trunk area (that both have) is pretty nice.

I am the proud owner of a 07 BMW 335i w/ TT...

It is absolutely the fastest and finest car I have ever driven.
It was built to order in Munich and I was able to track my auto all the way to the BMW Performance Center in Spartanberg, SC where I took delivery on there 19 mil Race course.

BMW is the world's finest in every way...

You also looks like the world's biggest douche driving a BMW, so there's that 😀

I don't remember how the Motor Trend comparisons panned out when they did the Sedan head to head but they picked the G37 Coupe over the 335i Coupe in the August issue.

I can't deal with Motor Trend, and have a hard time taking their comparos seriously. I'd be interested in what R&T thinks, though.

Any reason?

Any reason?

The magazine is ugly and horribly written IMO, and their Car/Truck of the Year awards seem to demonstrate a near-total willingness to whore themselves out to the highest bidder (as witnessed by the fact that cars like the Thunderbird, Lincoln LS, and Chevy Malibu have won in recent years). As far as I'm concerned it's worse in every material way than any other American car magazine, and I don't give much weight to anything they have to say.
