G35 or TL

She's debating between the Acura TL or the Infinity G35.

We did go to the LA car show this weekend and she saw a G35X and I think she likes that one instead. Anyway if she does get a car it would be a four door sedan and not a coupe. Price is almost the same so price is not really an issue. It's more of which one is better. Anybody own one? How about reliability?

We are open to suggestions on a different car around the same price range. If it is another car the two main features she's looking for are Bluetooth and NAV.

normally those two are lumped in with the BMW 330.

all three are excellent cars so it really comes down to what you want. the bluetooth/nav is very nice on the TL.

The new G doesn't look as good. I don't like how they made the back more round.

I was at the LA auto show too. I think the TL feels more comfortable as you sit in. Interior is ok, but when you think of it, the TL is front wheel drive, and it doesn't handle as well. However, I gotta love the front. Looks far more aggressive, but the G35 looks elegant.

Edit: I like Honda's navigation more.. the whole touch screen system is so much nicer than the idiotic joystick 4 direction pointer on the G-35...

She doesn't want a 330 because they are everywhere in LA.

FWD or RWD she doesn't care, I am 99.99999999999% sure of that. I'm 100% sure she has no idea what's the difference.

Horsepower is not even an issue as she would not be "racing down the street" although she claims that it would be nice to have whenever she "needs it".

Did the TL's body change this year? It seems different from what I saw at the dealership last time I was there.

if she decides on the g35, get the rwd version instead of the awd since she doesn't even know the difference.

Yes, the G35 interior is nicer quality IMO, but TL fit/finish is better and overall more modern/high-tech looking. I still prefer the G35 interior.

Nav:

Overall:

That's great advice if the guy wants to find his girlfriend in a ditch.

RWD + Bad weather/road conditions = Not so great results.

He lives in Monterey Park and I know that area cause I live right next to it. Socal = no snow at all. Worst thing you get is rain. And I see plenty of G35s in that area but no ditches.

Oh and I've seen ONE G35x there unless everyone decided to debadge.

I'll give you the engine & handling, but that's it. The TL wins everything else.

How about reliability? Has one been better than the other? What about maintenance cost?

TL is superior. Better interior, more features, and more refined.

This is coming from a G35 coupe owner.
