M3 is a real sports car.

A guy I worked with at my last job had a 3 series BMW not even an M3 before owning a G35 and said that compared to the BMW the G35 handled like sh!t and wasn't a real sports car.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the E46 M3, even though it costs $20k more than the G35, and vote for it. A more realistic comparison would be the 2007 Infiniti GT-R and the M3. I'd take that over the M3 any day of the week.

M3 - 333bhp/7900RPM 262lb/ft/4900RPM
G35 - 298bhp/4800RPM 260lb/ft/4800RPM (this is the 6SMT)
M5 - 500bhp 383lb/ft (estimated)

Edited the post above, but something to look at anyway for CURRENTLY (or soon to be current) vehicles, rather than 2007 models. :)

I've driven the G35 coupe many times. No need to look it up. It's a really sweet car and it looks sexy as hell and I'd be happy to own one but this isn't really a fair comparison.

Neither is the M3. It stopped being a sportscar after the E36 :p

the G35 will destroy any 3-series, excluding the M3 of course
i had a 325Ci and traded that in for a G35c and it is better in every way possible compared to the Bimmer

This is like: Ferrari or corvette. The cars are not comporable in performance or in price.

I understand that it is an unfair comparison.

However, I'm tired of hearing that the G35 is a better car than the M3.

Further, he has the audacity to say that the 4 exhaust pipes and the side intakes on an M3 don't do shit.

m3 is $20k more than the g35. not to mention superior in every aspect (except mpg). now, if its between comparably priced infinitis and bmws, id rather have a g35 6MT over a 330ci.
