I have the pentium, battlefield 4 runs fine.

Running it on windows 8.1 (might run worse on win7, no dx11.1), of course not running sli, single gtx670.

Could record something with shadowplay.

Overall this thing was quite hyped, the CPU benches show nothing fantastic.
Right, nothing fantastic. Just playable, which it is. Thing is, you linked non-applicable SLI benchmarks in which the CPU in question doesn't actually look that bad. It would be more illustrative to see single GPU tests with G3258 pitted against the 860K. I believe at that point we might be able to convincingly recommend FM2+ systems in the low-end gaming space.
