Iv got a friend who has an xbox 360, his using the hdmi cable to connect to monitor, but his not getting any sound.

are there any specific cables or jacks needed to get sound from the monitor?
I has built in speakers.

The HDMI connections on that monitor are almost certainly video only. Connect via analog line in cable for audio.

I didn't say anything about RCA. It has a seperate 3.5mm stereo input. You will have to connect that to get audio. This is in the manual.
