Going to give the HD2 a try. I'm on ATT which I know I'll only get edge speeds, same as my g1. I'm fine with that. I just love how customizable the g1 is especially in the rom department. Any HD2 owners currently trying different roms? I've looked at a few forums with custom rom action going down but it's not near as big as the g1 forums at the XDA forums.

Anyone mind giving their input on this device? Pros/Cons? Roms that are good for it?

I went from G1 to HD2 also. If you haven't use WM before, you might miss Android for a while as you get used to WM.

Android has better app/Android integration, especially the notification system. The Google apps are obviously better on Android. If you really rely on the app market, you will have to live without it on WM. I think there are a couple of alternatives, but I haven't used it. You really have to search for apps yourself.

The HD2 has a HUGE screen with great resolution, 800x480. :) It's FAST compared to the G1. The G1 would always kill my browser app when it ran out of memory. That was really annoying for my commute reading. This never happens on the HD2. The Sense UI is nice. Online screen keyboard is nicer and comes with swype. Install TCPMP or Coreplayer and it will play most video formats. I haven't tried the custom roms yet since I haven't found a need for it. It has a HUGE screen. :)

I do recommend some apps/customizations:
1. Cookie Home Tab
2. BSBTweaks
3. TCPMP (video player)

Owned an HD2 since December 09 and one word of advice is.... visit XDA Developer forums.

I owned the HD1 previous to this and was constantly flashing ROM's. I haven't done this for the HD2 but I know that it took them a long time to work out how to flash the custom ROMs onto the phone so I never bothered flashing unofficial ROMs. NRG ROM by NRG-izer was my favoured HD1 ROM and he usually releases multiple versions with certain bits added/removed, maximum performance but the battery life can be a bit lower than stock.

XDA Developers will answer any questions you have. Not to say I am passing the buck, just pointing you towards the best online resource for any high end advanced phone and others.

Lots of custom ROMs on XDA. I switch which one I use every few days. Using Energy at the moment, but I never seem to stay with that one long.
