Does anyone know the difference between the Ripjaws X DDR3-1600 and the non-X series Ripjaws DDR3-1600? The specs are identical yet the X series is cheaper on New Egg. I'm deciding which RAM to get for my i5-2500k build. I have not seen any reviews for the X series. The reviews for the non-X series says they are solid chips worth buying. Can someone shed some light on the subject?

There shouldn't be a difference. G.Skill can't comment on whether or not they contain different ICs, but chances are the only difference is the heat spreader. Newegg will raise the price of an item if the sales volume of that particular item goes up. The surge of people buying that particular kit for their Sandy Bridge builds this past week probably drove the price up since last week it was $109.99 with free shipping.
 
yah keep remembering g.skill is pure chinese cheap stuff. not that that is bad. im part chinese 😉 nothing special at all. not made in america nor even assembled in america. neo-generic.
