Gah, just received my Ripjaws DD3 1866 PC3 14900 from Newegg today. Paid $59.99. Could have saved $10 and probably not noticed much of a performance hit. Dang it.

Looks like its dead now, jacked up to $70. Thank god, I have no need for this and have been waffling the last couple days thinking of buying it.

same boat. i bit on the 16gb gskill ddr3 1333 for $45 for my new x230.

i honestly thought that the ddr3 1600 spec didn't even exist as a stock clock speed.

The 1600 is more common than 1333 for desktops. Not sure for so-dimms. The only saving grace is that the stock latency on the Patriot's is better (9) than the G.Skills (11), so the clock speed difference won't make THAT much of a difference.
